Description
The EGIG 170cc cylinder kit for Vespa Smallframe is made up of cylinder and crankshaft. The crankshaft has an extra long connecting rod (115mm instead of 97mm as standard on models from 80cc). Thus the area of the overflows could be moved from the engine block into the cylinder. Thus no milling work, neither at the cylinder nor at the housing, is necessary for a high mixture flow. In addition, the long connecting rod gives particularly smooth running as well as little stress on the piston skirt due to the special connecting rod ratio of 0.44 (stroke to connecting rod length).
So with cylinder and crankshaft even a 50cc standard engine can be upgraded to a 170cc suitable for touring and everyday use.
The power at the rear wheel is then, depending on the exhaust and carburettor used, around 20-25HP and up to 24Nm (without milling work on the engine or cylinder, with Reedvalve inlet at the cylinder).
